As a thank you to my blog and podcast supporters, I want you to be the first to have access to my upcoming book, “Uniquely You,” available for pre-order now. Here’s your look at Chapter 19…
Part I: The One Secret to Life
I love the movie City Slickers. In one scene the crusty cowboy, Curly (played by Jack Palance), tells the novice protagonist, Mitch Robbins (Billy Crystal), that there is only one secret to life—only one thing—and if you stick to that, everything else will fall into place. Robbins asks what that one thing is. The old cowboy replies, “That’s what you have to find out.”
Part II: What Do You Really Want
I see the power in that advice. Libraries and bookstores are full of books about living your best life, chasing your dreams and organizing your time and space. But what does that all mean? I can name a dozen bestsellers about happiness from the last couple of years; but in truth, most people never figure out what they really want. If you don’t know what you want out of your life, you’re not alone. A lot of us are taught that it’s selfish to ask, “What do I want?”
Many professionals grow exhausted and disenchanted from chasing business gurus and quick-fix formulas. Rather than becoming knock-offs, we must learn to listen to the leadership lessons our lives have been trying to teach us. In “Uniquely You,” coming in May 2019, I will share my personal journey, and how it led me to lead uniquely, with you. Preorder your copy today!
